Mitch Dubensky

Mitch is a 28-year DC resident and has lived in American University Park for 22 years. He holds a USSF National “Youth” coaching license, a USSF National “C” coaching license and is a USSF certified referee.

He played college soccer and has trained and coached soccer for four decades.  He has traveled and played soccer around the globe.  Now retired from the competitive soccer circuit, he focuses on training and coaching kids and enjoying pickup games on occasion.

After more than 25 years in the corporate and government world, I decided it was time for a lifestyle change. No longer wanting to dress in business attire, I came to the conclusion that among many passions is to teach children soccer skills while promoting physical education, a healthy lifestyle and competition.

Mitch believes that soccer can provide a competitive, physical and mental workout for youth.  The game demands physical and mental exertion, forces one to think and provides ultimate satisfaction in teamwork and accomplishing goals.  It provided him with a routine during school, a competitive outlet that eventually translated to a necessary life and business skill, motivated him to pursue his academics, created a desire for achievement and a willingness to sacrifice for teammates and friends.  He strongly believes it helped with his career goals and achieving his ambitions.
