A new soccer club and league called "DC Youth Futbol Club" has been established. It will begin play in the Spring 2012. Games will be played on Sunday afternoons. First Touch Soccer is a small, independent, nonprofit organization established in 2008 and based in Washington DC. First Touch Soccer is dedicated to enhancing soccer technique and tactics, sportsmanship, physical fitness and leadership skills of elementary and middle school boys and girls in the Washington DC metropolitan area.
First Touch Soccer (FTS) conducts spring, summer, fall and winter (indoor) clinics for boys and girls with all skill levels 7 years of age and older. However, younger children have attended on a case by case basis. The programs are conducted in Upper Northwest Washington DC.
In the Spring, FTS typically conducts two (2) one-week sessions during the school break with half and full day options available. In addition, half and full day clinics are conducted in Spring and Autumn on teacher/staff development days and federal holidays when schools are not in session. During the Summer, FTS offers six (6) one-week clinics with half-day and full-day options. In Winter, 1 1/4 hour skill/game clinics are conducted indoors at a local Upper Northwest Washington school.
Other Opportunities
Other schools in the Washington DC area have different days when schools are closed. First Touch Soccer has the flexibility to conduct clinics on these days. If you are a coach or a parent and interested in First Touch Soccer conducting a clinic on one of those days please contact me.
Team Training
First Touch Soccer also provides individual, group and team training throughout the year. Call or email for details on setting up sessions to improve the technical, tactical, psychological and physical aspects of your game.
In addition to season clinics, FTS conducts individual, group and team training to improve all technical, tactical, psychological and physical components of the game. For coaches interested in pre-season training, FTS can conduct morning/afternoon/early evening sessions to enhance the most important touch in soccer -- the First Touch
